When do I meet with my venue coordinator?

If you’re interested in booking our venue space for your wedding. Our Venue coordinator will meet with you to show you our facility and answer any of your questions before signing the wedding agreement. Final guest count and guest choices to be confirmed no later than 14 days prior to your wedding.

Do you offer taste testing?

Yes, you can sit down with our Chef and do your tastings at a mutually convenient time. At this time, you can also discuss wine pairing and alcohol ordersWe can offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten free meals. Our kitchen is not a nut free kitchen, while we take great care to ensure no cross contamination, we cannot guarantee that our kitchen is free of food items that can cause fatal allergic reactions.  Couples should advise guests to take precautions to ensure their own health and safety.

Is The Locks Perth licensed?

Yes, The Locks is fully licensed by the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario. No private alcohol can be brought into the licensed areas.

How much wine will I need for the meal?

When ordering wine for dinner base it on 2-3 glasses per guest to allow for top-ups for toasting.  Each bottle contains 5 glasses of wine.  (5oz x 5 glasses (750 mls/25 ounces).  You may place bottles on tables or servers can pour for you.

What if we prefer a wine that is not listed on your price list?

With a minimum of 8 weeks’ notice, we can arrange for other wines based on availability.  If you would like to bring in your own wine we will charge a corking fee of $20.00 (plus tax)per bottle.

What kind of deposit is required?

$2,000 deposit is required after signing of agreement form.

Do you provide room block to wedding guests?

Yes, we provide a room block as long as we have availability.

When is the final payment due?

After the initial deposit 50% of the total invoice less any deposits already take, are due on the day of the tasting, and confirmation of menu items must be completed 6 months prior to the wedding date. Final guest count to be provided 14 days in advance of the wedding date. All pricing is based on guest count provided by bride and groom on day of tasting. Any significant change in guests count can be subject to a price adjustment. 

Is there parking available?

There is parking available for guests who are staying overnight.  There is a public parking lot across the street which is free on weekends for guests who are attending your wedding but not staying overnight.

Are there any decoration limitations?

You are invited to personalize your décor by hiring someone or doing the decorating yourself as long as there is no damage to property (see agreement for details) The majority of our brides/guests choose centre pieces, favours, and a seating directory with place cards. The hall will be available on the day of your wedding at 11:00 am for decorating. Candle’s are permitted however flame has to be contained please see venue coordinator for approval.

Is there a coat check?

No, but we do have coat racks that can be used if needed.

Is the Venue handicap accessible?

There are elevators to all levels of the hotel. And the venue space is all on the main floor. Our Patio has a small ledge and is currently not handicap accessible. 

Are there adequate bathroom facilities?

Yes, there are bathrooms on the first floor available to all of your guests.

How long should the timing be between ceremony and dinner?

We would suggest two hours from the time of the ceremony to the start of dinner.  If the time between the ceremony and dinner is longer then we would recommend ordering hors d’oeurves for your guests.  For guests who are attending the evening reception only then we would recommend 2 hours after dinner start time.

Can we customize the menu?

We can certainly work with you to create a customized menu. We can make an appointment for you to sit with the venue coordinator and chef to discuss your request.  Please note there might be additional costs.

Are we able to hire our own caterers?

The Locks is a fully catered and licensed facility and does not allow outside caterers.

Are we able to bring in our own Wedding Cake?

Yes, you can, if you plan on serving your cake there is a cake cutting/serving fee.
